This month, we take a step inside Jaina Cipriano’s world of nostalgia and play. Nervous System is an immersive roomscape, centered around a decision of “this or that?” Door number 1 or door number 2? Who’s to say what’s right!

Join us this Thursday, July 13, for an opening reception from 6:30–8:30 PM. The Station’s Wine Garden will be open, so grab a libation, come chat with the artist, and make a fortune teller craft!

On the following Thursday, July 20, from 6:30–8:30 PM, Maria Molteni will be on deck with their tarot cards. Come receive divine guidance! You won’t want to miss this one!

Stay tuned for more details about our closing reception on July 27 from 6:30–8:30 PM.

About the installation:

Nervous System is an immersive roomscape that invites visitors to engage with the feelings and emotions associated with decision making processes. When presented with the opportunity to choose a path—even for a moment in this interactive artwork—visitors are invited to reckon with that process and explore how decisions can inform the lives we wish to live. Nervous System invites us to face our feelings head-on for what they are and what they have to tell us. How are we changed when we allow ourselves to be present with that moment of decisiveness?

About the artist:

Jaina Cipriano is an experiential designer and filmmaker exploring the emotional toll of religious and romantic entrapment. Her worlds communicate with our neglected inner child and are informed by explosive colors, elements of elevated play, and the push/pull of light and dark.

Cipriano is the founder of Finding Bright Studios, a design company in Lowell specializing in set design for music videos and immersive spaces. She has collaborated with GRRL HAUS, Boston Art Review, and was a Boston fellow for the MassArt Creative Business Incubator and a finalist in EforAll Merrimack Valley. Her photographic work has been shown internationally.

About the project:

Thanks to an invitation from Isenberg Projects, for July and August, Boston Art Review will present projects by Boston-based artists that transform a shipping container in the heart of Fenway.
